Our Journey
In 2005, my husband and I were happily married. After a year of trying, we went through the usual tests and it came back that we had motility and mobility problems. Our doctor told us we had a 1% chance of ever getting pregnant. Over the next year we went through 3 unsuccessful IUI's. We decided emotionally we needed a break and a month later found out my husband would be deployed for 12-15 months. Right away we got on a waiting list for IVF. We wanted to make sure once he got home safely, we would continue to pursue our dreams of having a family. So this year in 2010, I went through my first cycle of IVF, and let me tell you it was an emotional roller coaster. And after being unsuccessful, we decided right away we would jump on the bandwagon and try again. We did, in May, and again had the same result. Now after an empty bank account and nothing to show for it, we continue to pray that something good will come out of these experiences. We haven't given up hope, just not as confident as we once were.
